We arrived in Havana in the early evening of January 1st - a national holiday in Cuba, this year marking the 53rd anniversary of the revolution. Rather fittingly, our taxi drove us through the Plaza de la Revolucion in Vedado, home to memorials of the seemingly omnipresent Ernesto "Che" Guevara and Jose Marti - national hero, philosopher, political activist and fighter for Cuban independence in the 1800s. Here's Che in his illuminated glory, lighting up the Vedado sky.
